Thanks for being here and wanting to know more about the person you're trusting with your biggest day. Let's skip the typical photographer bio and get real.

I'm a Pacific Northwest-based elopement photographer, former nurse, boy mom, and someone who's traveled to 37 countries learning that the best moments happen when you stop trying to make everything perfect.

I've been married twice. Both times, I let family expectations and societal pressure dictate when and how it happened. The first was a destination wedding on a tropical beach; sounds dreamy, right? Except it was 115 degrees and my best man literally fainted during the ceremony. The second was a rustic outdoor wedding at a lavender farm with all our family and friends. Beautiful in theory, but I planned, set up, and cooked everything myself and was so exhausted and stressed that I barely remember it.

Here's what I learned: neither wedding felt like us. I gave in to what I was "supposed" to do instead of what we actually wanted. And honestly? I wish we had just eloped alone in nature and done it our way.

That's why I'm so passionate about what I do now.

From Nurse to Nomad to Your Elopement Photographer/Planner

Behind the Camera

The Real Story

You shouldn't have to look back and wish you'd done things differently.

I spent 20+ years as a nurse, mostly caring for premature and critically ill babies. That work taught me how to stay calm under pressure, read people quickly, and handle intense emotions with compassion. Those skills? They translate perfectly to elopement photography and planning.

When my youngest headed to college, I made a massive life change. I sold everything, bought an RV, and spent years traveling the country as a nomad. I watched bear cubs catch fish with their mom in Alaska, hiked through Banff and Yellowstone, explored both coasts, and trekked through deserts and snow. I collected experiences instead of things and made lifelong friends along the way.

Eventually, I craved roots again and settled in the Pacific Northwest, where I have access to some of the most stunning elopement locations in the country; hidden waterfalls, moody forests, dramatic coastlines, and alpine lakes. My heart also belongs to the desert though, and I've spent so much time exploring Moab that it feels like a second home. There's something about those red rocks that just gets me every time.

Random facts

My clients tell me I'm calm, organized, and genuinely care about them as people. I bring that same compassionate, non-judgmental energy from my nursing days to every elopement I photograph and help plan.

I get it because I've been in your shoes. I know what it's like to feel pressure from family about your wedding. I understand wanting something meaningful without the stress and expense of a traditional celebration. And I absolutely know how overwhelming planning can feel when you're doing something unconventional.

Unlike some photographers that just show up on the day of your wedding and you barely know them, my goal is to be your partner in creating a day that feels authentically you; from logistics and permits to capturing every real, unposed moment.

Why my couples choose to work with me

"We had the best time working with Megan for our elopement in Moab. She was a pleasure to work with throughout the process and made the day fun! The photos we received are incredible and perfectly capture the amazing day. If you are considering eloping, book her immediately!"

~ Elliott and Madison

I don't have many photos from my childhood (my parents weren't into them), and my memory is terrible. That's why preserving moments is so important to me. Not just the EPIC shots (which are important) but the real in-between moments that tell your actual story.

When you look back on your elopement years from now, I want you to remember how it felt. The joy, the excitement, the relief of finally celebrating exactly the way you wanted. Not the stress, not the compromises, no pressure.
