Hey there! I'm a Pacific Northwest-based elopement photographer, former nurse, boy mom, and someone who believes your wedding should feel like you.

I get it. I've been there.

I've been married twice, and both times I let what everyone else wanted override what felt right for us. The first was a destination beach wedding in 115-degree heat. My best man fainted. 😂 Seriously! The second was a beautiful traditional wedding at a lavender farm with around 100 people.

It was beautiful. It just wasn't me.

Because of these experiences, I know what it's like to look back and wish you'd done things differently and why I want your experience to be better.

From Nurse to Nomad to Your Elopement Photographer and Planner

Welcome! I'm Megan

Welcome!
I'm Megan

I spent 20+ years as a nurse, mostly caring for premature and critically ill babies. That work taught me how to stay calm under pressure, read people quickly, and handle intense emotions with compassion. Those skills? They translate perfectly to elopement photography and planning.

When my youngest headed to college, I made a massive life change. I sold everything, bought an RV, and spent years traveling the country as a nomad. I watched bear cubs catch fish with their mom in Alaska, hiked through Banff and Yellowstone, explored both coasts, and trekked through deserts and snow. I collected experiences instead of things and made lifelong friends along the way.

Eventually, I craved roots again and settled back in the Pacific Northwest, where I have access to some of the most stunning elopement locations in the country; hidden waterfalls, moody forests, dramatic coastlines, and alpine lakes. My heart also belongs to the desert though, and I've spent so much time exploring Moab that it feels like a second home. There's something about those red rocks that just gets me every time.

Number of countries I have visited. Where to next? Anyone up for Ireland????

Years working as a nurse.

Number of pets we have. We have 3 dogs, 3 cats, and some chickens!

Number of times I've re-read the entire Harry Potter series. Muggles wouldn't understand ;)

Number of states that I have explored.

My clients tell me I'm calm, organized, and genuinely care about them as people. I bring that same compassionate, non-judgmental energy from my nursing days to every elopement I photograph and help plan.

I get it because I've been in your shoes. I know what it's like to feel pressure from family about your wedding. I understand wanting something meaningful without the stress and expense of a traditional celebration. And I absolutely know how overwhelming planning can feel when you're doing something unconventional.

Unlike some photographers that just show up on the day of your wedding and you barely know them, my goal is to be your partner in creating a day that feels authentically you; from logistics and permits to capturing every real, unposed moment.

Why my couples choose to work with me

Of course, I could tell you all of this myself. But it means more coming from the people who've actually experienced it.

"We had the best time working with Megan for our elopement in Moab. She was a pleasure to work with throughout the process and made the day fun! The photos we received are incredible and perfectly capture the amazing day. If you are considering eloping, book her immediately!"

Why photos are important to me

I didn't grow up with many photos. My parents just weren't big on taking them, and my memory isn't exactly great. 😂  So I know what it's like to wish you could remember the little things.

That's a big part of why preserving moments matters so much to me. Of course I want to give you the epic shots, the ones you'll frame and show everyone. But I also want the photos that bring you right back to how it actually felt. The quiet moments. The ridiculous ones. The little things you didn't even realize were happening.

Years from now, I want you to look back at your elopement and remember more than what it looked like. I want you to remember the joy, the excitement, the relief of finally celebrating exactly the way you wanted.

Not the stress. Not the compromises. Just you two, exactly as you were.
